The exciting city of Rio De Janeiro has lots of beaches, majestic views, a vibrant nightlife and of course the carnival. When the city came up in the office poll of cities to propose, we were not surprised. The city which has come in focus after the 2016 Olympics has lots to offer for travelers with romance on mind. Here are three spots that we think are perfect for a romantic proposal.
Ipanema Beach
This beach gets our vote for a beach proposal. It's not as crowded as the ever-popular Copacabana but still as beautiful. You'll find plenty of places to enjoy tempting Brazilian cuisine and beach-y drinks. You can spend many lazy hours just lounging and as the sun sets it's time to get down on one knee.
Costa Verde
While the beaches of Rio De Janeiro are famous all over the world, the city also has other quieter spots to offer. A short drive and a ferry ride away from Rio, there are many beautiful beaches and lovely islands along the Costa Verde. We would also recommend visiting the national park of Ilha Grande. Doesn't it sound like the perfect spot for proposing?
Parque Lage
Beaches and palm-fringed islands aside, Rio also has some gorgeous parks that can be perfect for a quiet proposal. Situated at the foot of Corcovado, you'll get a view of Christ the Redeemer without the crowds at Parque Lage. There is a coffee shop and a restaurant in the park along with regular art exhibitions and spectacular buildings. You can explore the grounds and find the perfect spot for a proposal among the many historic buildings and then celebrate at the cafe.
After the Proposal
We get it that you would want a less crowded spot for your proposal, but after you're done do visit the more popular places. You can take the cable car ride to the Sugar Loaf mountain or the funicular rail to see the Christ, the Redeemer Statue atop Corcovado. There will be some crowds but since your newly engaged, they won't spoil your romantic mood. The popular beaches of Arpoador and Copacabana also can't be missed.
