1. The History
The tradition of celebrating moms is actually quite old, dating back to the Romans. The English, also, observed a celebration called "Mothering Sunday" back in the 1600s. The modern-day Mother's Day that is celebrated on second Sunday of May, came about in 1914. Anna Jarvis campaigned to have a day dedicated to mothers and her efforts paid off in 1914 when President Woodrow Wilson signed a Joint Resolution. It started out in America, but many countries have actually adopted this tradition. Pretty cool, huh?

2. Mother's Day Gifts
Accordingly to popular market research, flowers are the most popular gifts for Mother's Day. Carnations in red and pink, being the most popular choice of flowers. Clothes, accessories and jewelry are the second-most popular gifts for Mother's Day

So, this is not exactly a fact, but what do we say is the best gift for Mother's Day? Flowers or jewelry? Both! Show your mom some love on this day!
